Midyetts Report

June 16, 2008

Dear Friends in Christ,

We want to share the good news of another change for us. We are moving this week to a place near the Returned Service League club for ministry; and the hospital, just in case. Friends from church and our family will help us move to our new place. We have two trailers and three cars pledged from these helpers. We will return to visit our new friends here about 6 or 7 miles away. We do not have a car, you know. Church folks will pick us up, if my son Victor or daughter Anita can’t. The only thing I will miss is our Friday evening Bible study at the home of our Eaton pastor, in which we all share. Just want you to know how things are going on, and to thank you for your loving care through the years.

In this new facility, we will be near exercise machines that provide physical therapy with enough repetitions in three 30-minute sessions weekly to equal up to 13 hours of exercise, safely and effectively. It rebuilds the body by continuous passive sitting up and lying down motion technology. I wish the same exercise program for Anita and Victor, whose left leg is still numb from two strokes about six months ago.

No, Sarah and I are not out for the Olympics--we just want to get on healthily with what God put us on earth to do. The slogan of this health club says, "Relax your way to fitness." And that is what we are after. This exercise, along with the super Reliv nutritional supplements we are already taking, should help our bodies build up as time goes on. You might be interested in this type of fitness club near you. It’s called Body Firming.

"Cysts and thromboses in my brain, and right carotid artery blockage, go away, and don't come back another day, in Jesus' name." I've had three falls in the cabin house recently because of momentarily losing consciousness when standing too quickly from sitting or lying down; so that's what's brought on this move. Two sliding door tracks within the house are very dangerous for me these days. Also, I'm finding the steps challenging. The new place will be all on the same level, and has covered walkways; so we'll be able to take our twice daily walks even when it rains. Our unit overlooks the only visible triangle of lawn and a bench where we can sit in the sun if we wish. It also provides meals.

There was an underground explosion north of us that made a gas shortage here, dramatically affecting our stove and hot water supply in this cabin. That also makes it urgent that we move where all is electric. Sarah and I have trouble with gas fumes. Because of these dangers, this proposed move is needed, although the rental is more expensive, which could take away from our investment in missions temporarily; but the Lord makes no mistakes.

Sarah received a birthday card from Rev. Joe and his wife of Edmond Road Baptist Church in OK, among others. Though we are absent physically, we remain spiritually connected. So please do not miss our new Bunbury address. If you have no computer, it just requires just 90 cents in postage from the United States.

We are pulling on, by God's blessing. You are on our hearts as we serve in our particular individual vineyard.

Remember the Thomases who were going to print Sarah's Bible curriculum for their orphanages, and the radical Hindu uprising that occurred? They are now back in Kota, and just recently, three men with knives and guns came to kill young Thomas. Well, one of the three intended killers came to young Thomas, fell at his feet, and asked for forgiveness! Young Thomas was able to give him the gospel and his own testimony of salvation in Jesus Christ. The other two intended killers are still out there. Please pray for all the will of God for them. Now the Thomases are picking up the pieces. Young Thomas was our boss when we were in Kota in 2005-6. Now we are even more in hopes of making another trip to India. We just had to give this update since we wrote last about the Thomases.

Young Thomas attended the Seminary of Columbia International University, our Alma Mater. This is the caliber of graduate students Columbia is training for the whole world today. Two of my dorm mates, Walter Ericson and Ed Tritt, were killed by cannibals in New Guinea. And one died of a brain injury from a fall just recently. Her husband says he plans to go back to Africa in July to "burn out" for our Savior as a single man.

This is lengthy, but I believe the Lord told me to share all this about the Lord equipping us for loving health care work as my Savior advised me from the very beginning of my missionary life. We will endeavor to make our communications triennially from now on, but will be glad to make personal communications with any of you by email or Air Mail at any time. Our email program chose this super-busy time to go on the blink for the past ten days, so if your message has been returned, please resent it. Thanks.

And for you who have been such wonderful team members for us in our 58 years of missionary life, we are indeed grateful.

Yours in His service,

JT and Sarah Midyett
