Midyetts Report
January 28, 2008
Dear Friends:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Since we love Him and have experienced his call, we can accept that God is working all, A-L-L things in our lives out for good.
O. K. I have had some physical issues requiring treatment. My doctor is checking my carotid arteries to see how best to improve my circulation. We thank God for the effectual prayers of those praying for our health and ministry. I'm experiencing not only physical but mental and emotional improvement.
Friends are asking if my physical issues will alter plans for going to India for ministry. An ancient poem comes to mind: "With my God to guide my way, 'tis equal joy to go or stay." Our sails are up and we wait for the wind. At the same time, we lean heavily on the Romans 8:28 promise. We are glad folks are asking. This lets us know of God’s love through you.
At the moment we are encouraged at the prospects of support for our charge, Mr. Cherry, in Andhra Pradesh. He is willing to lay down his life for ministry in the Lord's work. We appeal for support for his tuition. You may have heard of rabid Hindus burning to death four pastors in the eastern state of Orissa. Indian Christians are under siege. In a sense, Cherry will be stepping into the gap. He is worth our investment.
Your prayers for our son, Victor means much to us and him. As you know he had two strokes last year. He's making steady improvement. Our goal is to pray him out here so that we all can go to India one more time for ministry. Sarah and I both feel that we should go again to help tie up odds and ends. Our recent visits to India have been instrumental in building up churches there and developing discipleship in several individuals.
The Word says that if we cast our bread (investments) upon the waters, they shall return to us with interest. We didn't have that in mind when we helped to start the International Teachers Association while in Columbia. But recently, in response to our need they have offered to be our agent to give tax-deductible receipts. Donors who might want to team with us in our retirement ministries count on this. Thank you Lord for working all things together for our and their good.
Yours in His service,
JT and Sarah Midyett
