Midyetts Report

12-12-2007

“O Lord thou hast searched me and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.” Ps. 139:1-3

Isn't it reassuring that in the midst of our reassessing our goals, the Lord is our Monitor? He is our supplier. He is our guide. He is our strength. He is our Mind Reader, knowing our thoughts from afar.

Come along with us as we think thoughts of our ministry to India in 2008. I'm hopeful that my son, Victor will join us in our next trip to India. He is presently in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, making plans to come. Since he was born there, he has roots to inspect.

Sarah and I, like the other Abraham and Sarah, are believing God for progeny. We are still revising Sarah's inspiring curriculum, and I am sharpening my health care manuals for leprosy clinics. So our time in Australia is well spent.

Beyond this we have our own Isaac. I mentioned him in a previous letter. His name is Cherry. He has dedicated himself to the Lord for ministry. He's the grandson of one of my Indian co-workers. My vision is to cultivate this Apollos. We are satisfied that as Cherry studies in Bible college he will be one of our spiritual extensions. He will carry the torch for us long after we are glorified.

Some of you who have been with us through the years remember our prayer requests for our grandson, Matthew. He has now graduated from Perth Bible College. His brother, Ben is following his brother's steps.

Now, all of this background ends with an appeal. Will you join us in welcoming us back into front line productivity? Oh yes, for tax-deductible receipts for 2007, please contact the Edmond Road Church. Until now the Edmond Road Baptist Church has been our official channel for funds. We are now, according to our protocol, retired. Those wanting to join us in our vision should send investments to our temporary address in the States: 1501 Winchester Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203-2065

We are open for some group to be our monitor in the future. Tax-deductible receipts need to be given to donors. Most important we value a sponsoring group to uphold us and our ministry in continual prayer and encouragement.

Your “retreading” missionary,

J.T. Midyett

PS I can't close this letter without asking you to pray for a young Indian man who feels called to the ministry. First he will have to get a theological education. His father is a successful village pastor with no funds to send his son to seminary. This will be a long term and valuable investment project. His name is S. Yesu Cheran, and he goes by the nickname of Cherry. To donate to this project, mark you check "Theological Education."
