Midyetts Report
January 30, 2007
Dear Friends,
We are beginning to settle into a routine that promises to be workable. Thanks for your patience.
Occupants of nine of the twelve households in our immediate vicinity of this caravan (trailer) and cabin park have proven friendly. And one special conversation with the occupants of two other households in other parts of the park led to repeated contacts.
Reading the Aussie Pilgrim's Progress by Kel Richards has given us an opportunity to brush up on our Aussie language, and to become acquainted with a wonderful tool for use with our special contacts. As part of the stress management our wonderful Christian doctor recommends, our ministry will be limited to such one-on-one contacts for the time being. We really got behind during our one year of overseas mission work and making our international transfer of residence.
About one weekend a month, we hope to travel to the Perth area to visit and worship with our other grandchildren, and other friends we have made in past years. Sarah is able to talk to her 91-year-old sister in the States ten minutes for AU$1.00, or a whole hour for only AU$5.25.
News from India continues to call for concerted prayer. We don't have funds for printing Moral Education materials for schools and orphanages there, and the missionaries there appear not to have funds either. See the two email excerpts below, and join us in special prayer for
1. Restoration to health of Joyce Khanna, former principal of Faith Academy , called out of retirement to fill a key position including coordinating Moral Education for that school of more than 3,000 students.
2. Dr. M. A. Thomas, needing to travel to the States for medical reasons.
3. Dr. Samuel Thomas, who hasn't seen his family in nearly a year, and on whom the burden of the main responsibility for Hopegivers' ministries rests.
4. Kate and her six-year-old daughter Skye, with whom the Lord has arranged for us to have repeated contacts.
5. Dr. Madidian Keita, our international friend in Columbia , SC. He has applied for temporary medical licensing in SC. It takes time, and he asks us to join him and his family in prayer for God’s special favor in this matter.
Praise the Lord with us that it seems at last we have discovered a cure for Sarah's digestive problems: Aloe Vera juice! Sarah's sister has been recommending it for years, and we've used it in the past, but international moves upset routines.
Your missionaries,
J. T. & Sarah Midyett

Friends, I am asking you to intercede before the throne of grace for my complete healing. On Tuesday, Jan 16th, at 7:20 a.m, I was having coffee at my desk in my office, when I felt something wrong with my mouth. Dr. A.V.N. Paul was the first person to say, “Miss Khanna, what’s wrong with your mouth?” It had gone to one side. He arranged for me to see my physician at 10:00 a.m. The Physician sent me to a neurologist. Both confirmed “Bells Palsy”. I have been under treatment. A physiotherapist come home everyday for one hour from y’day (21st) to give treatment. Changes are high, but it will take at least 10 days. With the prayers of many, I am slowly but surely getting better. Do pray especially for me.
Standing in need of prayer.
Your friend
Joyce
Hello Saints,
Greetings in Jesus' name!
We thank God for the permission that Dr. M. A. Thomas got from the Supreme Court of India , to visit the USA for his medical check up.
We still need for Jaipur High court to give permission for Dr. M. A. Thomas on 29th Jan, 2007. That court was to give permission on 23rd. But on that day the complete file of Dr. M. A. Thomas, went missing. In other words the enemy is doing their best to stop Dr. M. A. Thomas from going out of India . The devil is working so hard. The next date the court gave was 25th of Jan 2007. Now, the final date is 29th of Jan, 2007. The government lawyer is doing everything to make sure that the permission for four weeks given by Supreme Court is wasted by extending the dates. God is in control!!!!
We praise God that we have finally started the work for constructing the wall "wall of Hope" around the orphanage in Delhi and Kota . We ask you to pray and support this project. The total cost of this project will be around $55,000 and so far the US office was able to raise $10,000. The wall of Kota orphanage was destroyed during the three months of persecution and in Delhi we did not have a wall behind the children's dorm. The government has asked us to get a strong wall constructed. In the last two weeks many places the police had found the skulls of small children. There is big gang of criminals who kidnap children and kill them. Recently in Delhi and near Delhi the police found dead bodies of hundreds of children inside the houses of wealthy and influential people. Therefore it is a must for us to complete the wall all around the orphanage. Pray for the safety of all children in all our orphanages.
We thank God and thank you for your prayers. As I mentioned in my last mail that the enemy was trying to file a new case against both of us, saying that we have kidnapped many children and sold them. On 24th they ( police) finally decided not to charge us since they cannot find any evidence. Mr. Madan Dilawar (minister of Social welfare) wants the police to somehow file another case even if it is false. The minister has the power to dismiss police officers and because of that fear only the police did what they did for the last 11 months. Pray that God may give the courage to the police officers to stand for truth.
We thank you for being so faithful in praying for all of us during the persecution episode.
I am so thankful to God for the book of Habakkuk. We see Habakkuk asking, "O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! Even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!" (Hab 1:2). We can identify with Habakkuk.
Praise God for (Vs.5) "....I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told to you. Truly, it is only by the grace of God we are even able to re-start the work and are yet living.
Even now our enemy has not left us; they want to see our complete destruction.
The Lord said to write it down in bold letters that "......the just shall live by his faith." (Hab 2:4).
I am sure that what God said then, nobody would have believed that from the trials in Babylon a Daniel would come as the greatest leader of the World. A Mordecai would come as the prime minister over 127 countries of the world. An Esther would come as the queen of the greatest king Ahasuerus.
We too can say today that by faith we lived through all these trials. If you are going through some major trials in your life, I encourage you to write these words on the wall of your home and office, that “.....the Just shall live by faith".
Now, let us say with Habakkuk that whatever may happen, we will rejoice in the Lord and we will joy in the God of our salvation.
God bless you always!
Our Hope is in Him!
Bishop Dr. M. A. Thomas & Bro. Samuel Thomas
Yours faithfully,
J. T. and Sarah
