Midyetts Report
November 7, 2006
Dear Friends,
About three weeks ago, a cop fined me $232 for a traffic violation. I appeared in court on the appropriate day, pleading no contest. At that point, the traffic cop said to the judge, “In view of his age and the circumstances (I was heading to church, as were the two others who went through the traffic barrier ahead of me), I recommend his fine be reduced to $150.” The judge agreed, and I paid the fine. Then last week, the mail brought me a $150 check from the Traffic Board, refunding my fine! Have you ever heard of such a thing happening?
I am rejoining my physical and spiritual family in Australia. These twelve years in Columbia have seen the blessing of the Lord in His enabling physically. Sarah lost her voice last week. An infection that caused toxins in the thyroid was the main culprit. Thank God she is gradually getting better. All those toxins thought they had a new home in the thyroid. She’s still not over it.
Vacationing with the family in Australia will be our first vacation in several years. We are
dropping everything and just going.
I must announce that the situation in Rajasthan, India, needs our prayerful support more than ever. They need the God of all earth to move mightily on the Thomases’ behalf to give victory after victory, so they can see an end to their harassment by a group of sectarians who oppose a “live and let live” philosophy. Although they received a victory in court, the matter is not over yet. Last week, Dr. Samuel was told that within three months, he or his dad would be killed. It’s that sort of harassment that keeps them from getting on with the work at hand. Since their last report, Dr. Samuel Thomas said that in the last three weeks, he had spent more time in the police station than he had in his office. We go there again in God’s timing.
As for ourselves, we honor you who have stood with us to this day, and we appreciate you very much.

P. S. Our trip to West Australia went well, and we had a brief visit with our Perth area grandchildren before proceeding to the Bunbury area. Believe it or not, both of us have already adjusted our nights and days to theirs--praise God! We are living with my daughter Anita for the first few days while we are getting set up for living in our small cabin. It's so convenient for our need. God is so good.
Our first social time with Anita's friends included an older couple on Sunday evening. The man will be helping us move necessary items and do other needed tasks today. The throat virus that left Sarah without a voice much of last week is gradually improving. Thank God for your prayers. I anticipate that your prayers will be even more effectual as we get settled.
Thank you again for your part in sending us off.
Yours faithfully,
J. T. and Sarah
