Midyetts Report
2006-05-16
Dear Friends,
We are in our last week in Australia. After two weeks with our daughter Anita and her son Michael, we went an hour and a half north toward Perth to be with our other grandsons, Matthew, Ben, and Simon, and Kylie, who also calls me Granddad. Anita will take us from her home to the airport for a 6 a.m. departure on Monday, May 15.
Our first stop in the States is at our sponsoring church, whose members largely made this six-month missions trip possible. We are scheduled to arrive there on Delta flight 5454 on May 16 at 10:04 a.m. We’ll be coming over Oklahoma to Cincinnati and back to OKC
On May 22 we are due at St. Louis International Main Terminal on American Airlines Flight 5560 at 1:10 p.m. Then we leave for Memphis on Northwest Flight 3548 arriving at 1:15 p.m. on June 3, where we have a confirmed appointment at Brookside Baptist on June 4, Sarah’s 79th birthday. We finally arrive at home in Columbia on Northwest Flight 2991 at 4:55 p.m. on Monday, June 5.
I’m looking forward to being in Illinois again with my sister, and, Lord willing, also seeing her in Australia this year. My concern is not having an extended time with her in May, but that is being solved by Rick and Pauline Birch paying for her ticket to Australia to escape the cold of the Illinois winter. And guess what? This may be repeated the following year, depending on our transfer of residence to Australia soon. We need to make a trip to India again, and we can do it from here instead of from far-off U. S. A.
It’s surely great to be with our grandkids again. This is so stimulating! I have thoroughly enjoyed my month here. Anita and Pauline are adorable, and Kylie is precious. They all love us dearly. We are greatly blessed, and we still have a ministry ahead by God’s grace, in both India and Australia.
Speaking of India, we are delighted to report that in answer to many prayers, Dr. Samuel Thomas, our first host’s son, has been released from jail on bond. His father, Dr. M. A. Thomas, has also been granted bail regarding the similar charges placed against him. Pray that their authorization to operate their many ministries may soon be restored, so that their printing presses may proceed with the printing of our Bible lessons for their many schools and orphanages.
Thank you so very much for your participation with us in this mission trip. We look forward to sharing a preliminary report with those mentioned above, and a more complete report on our next return to the States. Until then, we have our work cut out for us in caring for our physical needs and completing what’s needed to meet requests made by Indian churches and church schools for the coming year.
Yours faithfully,
J. T. and Sarah
