Dear Prayer Partners,

Want to look in on a miracle? Missionaries I know going back to the field often see a miracle, and we have one to report to you today: Multi-entry visas in hand for both of us, and ticket costs assured to fly early on December 3. I call this a miracle!

How did this come about? Through three very large gifts, one medium-sized gift, several $100 gifts, and smaller gifts from a missionary and a graduate student! Two of the gifts came from neighbors. One is bedridden, but from her bed is active in the Lord’s work. Also my son, out of work for many months, pledged to have a part. All these parts make up the whole. And this is just the beginning, because as it turns out, we need another miracle!

The magnitude of this needed miracle sends our heads spinning. It involves orphans under the jurisdiction of our first host. In view of his success in making useful citizens out of orphans, the Indian government has asked him to take a million off the streets. When this national missionary saw in our home last year what we had to offer, he agreed to print our teacher training materials and Preschool through Grade 4 curriculum for himself and us. But with this influx of orphans, Dr. M. A. Thomas now asks our help with printing costs.

Here’s what printing involves for 1,000 schools: (1) A sample set of 21 books for teacher training and students’ books. (2) For printing to be cost effective, 1,000 copies need to be made—20 for us and 980 for Dr. M. A. Then with one such set plus 3 CDs, each school could produce lesson pages, as it needs them.

Training: We are prepared to train and demonstrate for teachers in as many schools as we can. Upon completion of training, each school receives for its library (1) three CD’s, (2) Bible teacher training materials, (3) Teacher’s Manuals for lower grades, (4) vivid Bible lessons for Preschoolers through Grade 3, and (5) the Gospel of Mark for Grade 4.

One Christian school in Delhi reports that 95% of its nearly 3000 students are Hindus, Muslims or Animists. This is an average estimate for all Christian schools.
